What is the Car Sharing Campout?
Today cities are facing an urgent demand to reduce the damaging impacts of transportation on both the environment and their citizens’ health. As they grapple with improving air quality, expanding green areas and reducing traffic congestion, car sharing is becoming an ever-important part of city sustainability plans. The Car Sharing Campout aims to tackle some of the challenges cities are facing in their car sharing programmes. Bringing together key automotive players, mobility researchers and organisations working to improve future challenges in mobility, the Car Sharing Campout will include state-of-the-art innovation workshops to help create break-thrus for cities. It is the one innovation-focused mobility event you do not want to miss!
Where will the Campout be held?
Nestled in the heart of Paris’ 13th arrondissement, the Anticafé Olympiades is surrounded by students and companies. With a focus on creative collaboration, the fun venue is equipped with different-sized meeting rooms, a fablab, and a large terrace. It’s the perfect spot for innovation to occur!

Pedal to the metal, car sharing is a rapidly-evolving field. How can cities adopt car sharing programmes with success? What challenges are they facing? An overview of the current state of the car sharing scene in Europe will be given, including the analysis of 186 cases from 25 countries.
Workshop n°1: A new era in car sharing business models
New technologies and features are changing the car sharing scene, allowing drivers to have more tailored experiences for their desired trips. Meanwhile, competition is crowding out some business models. Come find out what the major business model trends are, and which ones are losing speed.

Workshop n°2: Behaviour drivers and barriers in car sharing
Human behaviours towards shared mobility are driven by individual, social, political, environmental, economic, technological and legal factors. Car sharing programmes must also adapt to meet the preferences of millennials, which are often different from previous generations. Various case studies will be presented in this workshop, highlighting major behaviour drivers and barriers.
11:00 - 12:00
Workshop n°4: Towards inclusive transportation
Men and women have different transport needs and patterns. As men currently dominate STEM and transport fields, current mobility structures are designed to fit their needs. Come hear how one non-profit is working to change this, and what this means for car sharing programmes. This workshop is conducted in cooperation with the TInnGO project.
14:00 - 17:30
Join us as we come together to help 3 cities solve real challenges they are facing in implementing their car sharing programmes. Working in small groups, the cities will present their cases and we will use innovative techniques to devise creative solutions that meet their needs. Don’t forget to wear your thinking hat!
